Jesus commands us to "go" and make disciples, calling us to care for the vulnerable and share His love with a hurting world. At Lake Forest Church, we embrace the Missio Dei—the mission of God—by actively reaching out to those in need: the homeless, the homebound, orphans, widows, and those who are often overlooked or unreached.
At Lake Forest, you’ll find opportunities to serve locally alongside our partner ministries, take part in short-term, cross-cultural mission trips, or support others through prayer and financial contributions. Our mission is simple: to show the love of Jesus to one more person in need, offering hope and help wherever it’s needed most.

Lake Forest Church, in partnership with the Children’s Impact Network (CIN), invites you and your family to step away from the everyday and into a powerful mission of shared purpose and unconditional love in Pena Blanca, Honduras. This trip is uniquely designed for families who are ready to make a significant, hands-on contribution. Together, you will experience the joy of connecting with former orphans who have found a safe home and a loving family; find meaningful roles playing and mentoring & help with vital infrastructure and development projects at the orphanage site.
The Honduras Life Center is home to children who have been rescued from abuse, abandonment and neglect. They now have a loving family that points them to Jesus. We have witnessed lives transformed because of God’s restoration & healing power- you are a vital part of it all. In Honduras, your team will be given a greatest need project at the Life Center. Part of your trip costs goes into this project to continue making the life center a loving home built for life change. Projects will vary depending on the greatest needs but it can be anything from painting to cleaning to a construction project. Beyond the home, your family will partner directly with the local church on "Project Impact," an essential prayer and outreach program that delivers food, clean drinking water, and spiritual hope to marginalized communities. Furthermore, you will jointly participate in "Sidewalk Sunday School," our lively, mobile children’s ministry where your family can use games, music, skits, and a shared love for soccer to bring the gospel and much-needed fun to children in surrounding neighborhoods.
Cost of the trip includes Airfare, lodging, food, and Visa cost. The only additional cost will be spending money while abroad as well as any cost incurred to get a Covid test before departure.

Ladies, it’s our turn! Men and families at Lake Forest Church have been serving in partnership with Children’s Impact Network (CIN) for two decades. We are excited to announce that the Lord has made a way for us to step away from the everyday and into a powerful mission of shared purpose and unconditional love in Pena Blanca, Honduras in November 2026!
We will get to experience the joy of connecting with former orphans who have found a safe home and a loving family at the Honduras Life Center (HLC). We will fill meaningful roles through play and mentorship and help with vital infrastructure and development projects at the HLC.
Beyond our work at the HLC, we will partner directly with the local church on "Project Impact," an essential prayer and outreach program that delivers food, clean drinking water, and spiritual hope to marginalized communities. Furthermore, we will jointly participate in a lively, mobile children’s ministry where we’ll use games, music, and skits, to bring the Gospel and much-needed fun to children in surrounding neighborhoods.
Our prayer is that the Lord will use this journey to Honduras to ignite lasting transformation in the communities we serve, in the friendships we build, and in our own hearts, as well.
“But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference He made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.”

FORCLT was founded by a group of pastors out of a shared burden that the operating system of the Church in Greater Charlotte is broken. Historically, the Church has been divided, declining, and too often disengaged from meeting the needs of our city, all while leading to epidemic levels of pastoral burnout. While this can be discouraging, in John 17, our Lord Jesus provided the answer when He prayed “…that they may become perfectly ONE, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.” This is why the FORCLT Network exists. To Unite the Church to Transform Our City.
