Swannanoa Mission Trip

The devastation left by Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina has deeply impacted our communities. In response, Lake Forest Church is partnering with Valley Hope Church to bring tangible help and the hope of Christ to those affected.

Join us on a 4-day Mission Trip August 7-10, 2025 to Swannanoa, North Carolina, where we will focus on rebuilding homes and clearing debris. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals and families still recovering.

Trip Details:

• We will depart on Thursday morning and work through Saturday, staying until Sunday morning to worship with Valley Hope Church before returning home.
• All individuals aged 15 and older are welcome to participate. While no prior experience is necessary, DIY and construction skills are highly valued as the majority of current projects are construction-based.
• We will be staying in communal, bunk-bed style housing at the Better Together Camp in Black Mountain.
• All meals will be provided and prepared onsite by Mercy Chefs.
• Trip cost is $250 per person

We are currently in need of individuals with the following skills:

• Skilled Trades: Carpentry, drywall, flooring, insulation, roof repair, trim work, painting, plumbing, electrical, etc.
• Heavy Machinery Operation: Experience operating large equipment.
• General Labor: Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as working in cold conditions, heavy lifting, mucking and gutting, landscaping, painting, and operating a dump trailer.
• Bilingual (Spanish) Speakers: To facilitate communication and support within the community.
